Sebastian Moore, center, and Al Gunn, right, are pictured teaching four kids who play for the Black Barons Little League team how to swing a baseball bat.
Gunn, 82, started the team and has been involved in youth baseball for most of his adult life.
The Black Barons recently had their first practice at Homer Wheaton Park on Syracuse’s East Side.
Gunn said his interest in baseball comes from his own childhood. Gunn grew up in Georgia during the 1940s and 1950s and wasn’t allowed to play baseball because he is Black, he said.
