Patrick McGuan is a columnist with Central Current covering the visual art ecosystem in Central New York. Originally from the midwest, they earned a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Patrick taught in Studio Art at Syracuse University and Hastings College and currently lives and works in Syracuse.
Outside of their column, Patrick has exhibited nationally at artist-run and nonprofit venues and maintains a studio practice that draws from environmental history, devotional art and material culture of religious communities, and experimental writing.
