Progress on the project to tear down the I-81 viaduct through Syracuse has been steady as of late.
Earlier this year, the New York State Department of Transportation started work on outlying portions of the highway.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and White House Infrastructure Act Implementation Coordinator Mitch Landrieu came to Syracuse in July for a groundbreaking on the project.
The state’s department of transportation announced this week the opening of community outreach centers at Tucker Missionary Baptist Church in the South Side and The Hills Building in downtown Syracuse.
Residents can visit either to get questions answered about the project. The hours and locations for each are listed below:
- Tucker Missionary Baptist Church, 515 Oakwood Avenue, Syracuse. Open Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Hills Building (first floor), 217 Montgomery Street, Syracuse. Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
