Onondaga County Legislator Elaine Denton defended her seat in the Onondaga County Legislature’s 10th District, defeating Republican challenger Edward Theobald.
Denton, a Democrat, won her first term in the legislature in 2025, helping to flip control of that body for the first time in almost 50 years.
Theobald served 12 years as Manlius town supervisor and has previously served as a village trustee in Minoa.
Denton earned 59.2% of the vote with 89.3% of the vote counted, according to Onondaga County Board of Elections unofficial results. Theobald earned 40.8% of the vote as of late Tuesday evening.
The county’s 10th District spans the town of Manlius and the villages of Fayetteville and Minoa.
